The three built-in sources contain 1500 questions in total, including written-test-only material: 1275 Study-guide practice, 150 Elementary topic practice, and 75 General warm-ups. All are original, unofficial practice questions. Study-guide practice includes source references after each answer and is a starting set, not complete guide coverage. Topics marked written-only appear in Written warm-up and Adventure, not Quick Recall. This is a simplified toss-up trainer inspired by the KAAC 2026–2027 format, not an official match or official question set.

Quick Recall: open-response practice

  1. Choose a subject from Subject focus, a round length, and solo, two-player, or four-per-team seating. Choose multiple subjects reveals optional checkboxes. Everyone shares one device; this is not an online multiplayer room.
  2. Read the question as it appears. Buzz as soon as you know it: Space for solo, A / L for two players, or A S D F / J K L ; for two teams. Touch buttons work too.
  3. The first buzz freezes the question and locks out all other players. Type your answer and choose Check answer. Capitals and common saved alternatives are accepted.
  4. In solo play, you can also say the answer aloud, reveal it, then mark yourself. If a typed answer is an equivalent wording the checker missed, accept it yourself.
  5. In team play, a reader may mark an answer correct or missed. A missed first attempt locks out that whole team and gives the other team a fresh chance. The correct answer stays hidden until the question is over.
  6. Score one point for a correct answer; a miss costs no points. Choose Next question when ready.

Written warm-up: multiple choice

This separate, solo practice mode shows four shuffled choices. Tap a choice or press 1–4, read the explanation, and continue. These are original practice questions, not a reproduction of a KAAC written test.

Music and sound

Open Audio settings above the game for Music On/Off and separate music and effects volumes. All game audio is the master mute. Adventure music begins after your first play interaction, fades between scenes, develops when a guardian transforms, and pauses with the match or a hidden page. If your browser blocks audio, press Enable audio. Everything works offline.

Choosing practice questions

First choose your subjects. Under Question sources, select any combination of Study-guide practice (based on the uploaded PDFs), Elementary topic practice (based on the shared elementary content outline), and General warm-ups (the original starter set). These describe origins, not difficulty levels. My study pack adds questions you create or import. Counts follow your subjects and practice mode; written-test-only topics are left out of Quick Recall automatically. Select all built-in restores all three built-in sets. Clear lets you start a new selection.

Adventure: rescue Rigby

Choose Adventure to begin at map level 0. Your hero automatically follows the trail to the next guardian; free movement and movement keys are not used. The map identifies your location, the next encounter, its subject, and the seal you can earn. Choose any unlocked guardian to replay it.

Each guardian draws questions from that subject’s expanded study-guide set or full built-in bank. In the full built-in bank, early levels favor the starter practice, middle levels the elementary topic questions, and the final level study-guide questions; this source-based progression is separate from the new question-level challenge estimates. Unseen questions come first, then the least recently shown; recent duel sets are avoided when possible. Each duel has seven unique questions, records exposure as each appears, and shuffles choices while keeping the answer and explanation linked. The browser remembers question history across rematches, fresh adventures, and reloads when local storage is available.

Correct answers send your hero’s Starbeam at the guardian. Wrong answers, or a timed-out answer, send the guardian’s Moon Spark at your hero’s shield. Each spell earns its caster one magic point. The power meters charge by 25% per point; first to four points wins the guardian’s named seal. A miss shows the answer and an explanation, and never removes an earned seal. Match pace can be No timer, 30 seconds, 20 seconds, or 12 seconds. Pause freezes an open question. Moving to another practice tab pauses an active duel; returning restores it. Returning to the map ends that duel but keeps the adventure’s level, seals, and run record.

Use New level-0 adventure from the map or match results to reset the current run: map level, keys, encounters, duel scores, and accuracy streak. Reloading the game also starts a fresh level-0 run. Hero name, avatar look, sound and pace preferences, question exposure history, and reduced-motion settings stay saved separately from adventure progress. Use Customize avatar look on the home screen to change skin tone, hair style and color, and jacket color. These are adventure rules, not official Quick Recall rules; regular Quick Recall still uses open-response questions. All practice prompts are unofficial; uploaded-guide sources appear after answers.

Sound

A short, mythical three-note “da da da” fanfare welcomes each new question in every mode. Turn Game sound off before starting, or use Sound off during a round, for quiet practice. The fanfare never delays the question or clock.

Clocks, reading & accessibility

The optional 10-second elementary buzz window starts when the question finishes appearing; it stops on a buzz. This is not a limit on how long you may finish a spoken answer. The 20-second option is a learning aid. Written practice uses the selected time as an optional answer limit. Pause freezes reading and the clock. There is no speech recognition or automatic hesitation judging. Use “All at once” for a full prompt immediately, including screen-reader practice.

Format grounding: The 2026–2027 KAAC Quick Recall Manual, printed pages 8–11, describes two teams of four, electronic lockout, five equally represented subjects, open-response questions, one-point scoring without miss penalties, and a 10-second elementary response interval. Mixed-subject rounds here balance selected subjects as closely as the available bank allows.

A trainer, not a full match simulator

These drills omit bonuses, bounce-back bonuses, halves, official match timing, substitutions, inquiries, and official hesitation calls. A toss-up’s second-team opportunity is not a bounce-back bonus. Follow your coaches and the official manual for actual competition rules.

The Elementary topic pack

The bank contains 75 starter questions, 1275 practice questions based on the uploaded guides and checked references, and 150 questions based on the Elementary sections of the Governor’s Cup content outline you supplied. High-school and middle-grades topics were not added. These are original practice questions, not official KAAC questions or a complete competition exam.

Data description and interpretation, coordinate-plane questions, symmetry, congruence, and similarity are restricted to Written warm-up, following the written-only labels in the supplied outline. The starter question about a mean is also written-only. In a normal 5-, 10-, or 15-question round with all five subjects selected, subjects appear equally. “All · balanced subject round” uses the same number from each nonempty selected subject, leaving extra questions for another round. Short rounds with other subject selections balance as closely as their length allows. Missed-question replays focus only on the questions you missed.

Guide sources and corrections

The expanded source-backed pack covers all five subjects, with curriculum and estimated-challenge labels for each question. Mathematics follows Math Supplement 2025; science follows the science section of Study Guide Addendum All Subjects 2025; social studies and language arts follow their 2025 supplements. Arts and Humanities uses 10 questions from Arts and Humanities Supplement 2025 and 10 from the 2022–2023 Elementary Arts and Humanities guide. The separate supplements repeat sections of the combined addendum, so they are not counted as additional coverage. Page references count PDF pages, including covers.

The 2025 addendum extends the earlier study guides; it is not solely an errata list. The new questions are independently written practice based on its topics and facts, not official KAAC competition questions. No full guide text or illustrations are copied into this game. Five new mathematics questions about collecting or interpreting data are written-only and available in Written warm-up and Adventure.

Math correction: Math Supplement 2025, PDF page 17, incorrectly calls a fraction with zero in its denominator irrational. Division by zero is undefined in ordinary arithmetic. The practice question and explanation use the corrected definition. Ambiguous or questionable statements elsewhere in the guides were excluded from this starting set.

Dates and rotations

The uploaded 2026–27 cover sheets list Robert C. O’Brien, Rick Riordan, and Louis Sachar as the elementary author rotation, and Jane Goodall, Louis Pasteur, Florence Nightingale, Yuri Gagarin, and George Washington Carver as the scientist rotation. These author notes replace the earlier topic-outline assumptions in this prototype. The uploaded 2026–27 Quick Recall Manual is the current rules reference; the 2025–26 manual is historical. Older guide publication dates are retained in source references. This game does not claim complete coverage of the 2026–27 season.
